The role
We're looking for a Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to join our high-performing Risk & Compliance Team. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, you'll work as part of our second line of defence, partnering closely with teams across the business to implement and enhance our risk and compliance frameworks. This is a hands-on role where you'll support the design and continuous improvement of controls, contribute to our assurance program, and help build risk capability across the organisation.
You'll be instrumental in monitoring our risk and compliance obligations, preparing insightful reports for senior leadership and the Board, and fostering a strong culture of compliance throughout GPT. If you're an experienced risk and compliance professional who thrives on collaboration, enjoys getting into the detail, and wants to make a real impact in a leading Australian property company, we'd love to hear from you.
What you will be doing
- Develop and implement robust governance frameworks and controls that ensure compliance and meet legislation, regulation and industry standards for our funds management business.
- Drive continuous improvement of our risk and compliance plans, policies and systems in response to evolving regulatory requirements.
- Monitor risk and compliance obligations through our second-line assurance program and GRC system (Protecht), supporting data-driven, risk-informed decision-making across the business.
- Partner with teams across the organisation to provide expert guidance, build capability and strengthen our risk and compliance culture.
- Conduct thorough incident reviews, monitor complaints and investigate potential breaches, implementing corrective measures to address issues and strengthen controls.
- Prepare clear, insightful reports for leadership, the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee and the Board that effectively communicate key risks and compliance matters.
What makes you stand out
- You're an experienced risk and compliance professional with strong knowledge of the regulatory landscape (ASIC, AUSTRAC & OAIC) relevant to funds management and financial services.
- You have a proven track record in designing, implementing and monitoring controls that effectively support risk and compliance management frameworks.
- You excel at managing competing priorities, staying organised and handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
- You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and engage confidently with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- You have experience working with GRC management systems and bring a collaborative, hands-on approach to delivering results.
- A degree in law, finance, economics or a related field is highly regarded, though relevant experience and capability are equally valued.
