The role
We are currently seeking the services of a Senior Operations Manager to take responsibility for the operational performance of the celebrated Highpoint Shopping Centre.
Reporting into the Centre General Manager, the Senior Operations Manager will provide leadership to the property operations team, setting vision and strategies for the team to deliver upon, whilst driving a culture of safety and high performance.
With a focus spanning the strategic delivery of lifecycle asset planning, project management, commissioning, through to the daily operation of all property services, you will drive sustainable and economic performance throughout the asset with a focus on constant improvement.
What you will be doing
- Taking accountability for all operationally delivered projects on site, including budget and ensuring they are integrated and completed with minimum interruption to the building users.
- Managing the site operational team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that activities are prioritised and diligently and efficiently completed, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Preparation of tender and contract documentation, including obtaining tender pricing for all works and services on the property as required and ongoing management of all specialist contractors to ensure they comply with their contractual terms.
- Driving the safety culture across the asset, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and that safety incident reporting is completed, actioned and closed out
- Maintaining knowledge of the centre’s Fire Engineered Solution and review any potential impacts (incl. tenancy fitouts, marketing and operational events) with a solution based focus.
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant statutory authorities and enact sound engineering practices in relation to maintenance of the property structure, façade, fittings, finishes, fit out and services.
- Being accountable for all emergency, crisis and risk management training programs including emergency evacuation procedures and other crisis management situations
- Driving the overall property presentation standards including cleaning, security, customer service and maintenance and undertake regular inspections of the building and plant and determine the extent, and priority of any repair works or other attention required.
What makes you stand out
You will be Tertiary or trades qualified, with relevant prior experience in a similar position within a Retail focused asset and have sound the critical analysis of building performance as well as problem solving, team leadership and negotiation skills.
Your excellent attention to detail, coupled with an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and to build effective working relationships with a varied group of stakeholders.
You will have an understanding of Building Codes, Australian Standards, OHS/WHS and Legislation, Essential Services of Authority and Statutory Requirements, as well as NABERS, NGER’s and other related sustainability related measurement and reporting obligations.
You will also need exceptional communication skills, a high level of commercial acumen and financial management and have strong skills across the MS Office suite.
This role would suit a seasoned Operations Manager with strong leadership skills and the ability to work cross functionally, looking to take their career to the next level.
