The role
We’re looking for an Operations Supervisor to take charge of managing physical assets within our logistics portfolio. Based in our Melbourne Central Tower asset, you will focus on a dedicated group of assets at a base location, while also supporting your team to ensure smooth, efficient operations across the board.
Your role will be key in building strong customer relationships, improving overall performance, and maintaining compliance within your portfolio.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with GPT’s health, safety, environmental policies, and statutory requirements, including contractor management and documentation.
- Coordinate contractors and consultants for essential services and fire safety certification, maintaining accurate records.
- Oversee property maintenance, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and specialist contractors to meet service and safety standards.
- Lead risk management initiatives, maintain asset registers, and report on risk status regularly.
- Manage logistics site portfolios remotely, handling contracts, budgets, and contractor performance to improve service and reduce costs.
- Conduct asset inspections, drive tenant satisfaction, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Support budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and assist in operational reporting and payment improvements.
What makes you stand out
Trade qualifications in electrical or mechanical fields are highly desirable, with 3-4 years of relevant operational experience—logistics industry experience a plus. A valid driver’s license is essential. Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Australian Standards, OHS/WHS legislation, and statutory requirements is required. Must be able to manage multiple projects methodically within tight operational and financial deadlines. A customer-focused, proactive approach with the ability to empathise and deliver excellent service is key. Effective communication skills to build relationships across all levels, including senior management and contractors, are essential. Experience in risk management, contracts, and contractor oversight is important. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, property management systems, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor PO systems are required.
