The role

 

GPT is currently seeking the services of a Capital Works Project Manager to work across building infrastructure upgrades across several of GPT’s assets in all sectors of the business to be based in our Sydney office. 

 

As part of a national team, the Capital Works Project Manager manages strategic planning, financial management, coordination and delivery of operational capital works projects up to $10M for GPT managed assets in all sectors of the business including; Office, Retail and Logistics across NSW. 

The role ensures projects are delivered safely across all properties and in accordance with GPT policies and procedures. 

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Identifying capital projects and initiatives in line with the assets annual budget and business planning cycle and ensuring all capital project briefs prepared by the assets are fully considered regarding the project requirements.
  • Planning and delivery of allocated projects at allocated asset(s) including management of all procurement, contract negotiations and resourcing including engagement of external Project Managers (if required)
  • Creation of project budget, tracking & procurement of project costs, and management of forecasting and programming of planned capital and future costings, variation management
  • Participate in the development of the design and review processes to ensure that all services and delivered are in line with the portfolio design briefs and that services are fit for purpose.
  • Managing the delivery team to drive program of works.
  • Managing contracts for projects, conducting contract negotiations with contractors.

 

What makes you stand out

 

Your significant prior experience as a tertiary educated Project Manager, within the property industry or construction industry with proven experience managing multiple programs of works over multiple projects combined with well-honed negotiation skills and the ability achieve set goals.

 

Your excellent understanding of building codes and regulations, coupled with an ability to manage teams and stakeholders in order to achieve deadlines and objectives.

 

You own advanced financial skills with a highly developed and practical understanding of life cycle assessment; capital expenditure and project forecasting and management.

             

You will also need exceptional communication skills and have strong skills across the MS Office suite, SAP, MS Project and SharePoint.

 

This role would suit an experienced Project Manager who has worked across multiple projects with the building infrastructure space who is solution oriented and wishes to grow their career within a leading property management company.
