The role
Due to growth and volume of work, we are currently seeking the services of a Design Manager to join the GPT retail team on a 18 month fixed term contract.
The focus of this role is to ensure the presentation and functional quality of all stores in the our assigned centres are of the highest possible standards.
This position must ensure a business-driven design solution with an effective and demonstrable balance between the commercial and the creative.
What you will be doing
- Working with our tenants, their designers and other stakeholders from the design concept brief through to commencement of fit out, ensuring GPT’s Environmentally Sustainable Design initiatives, minimum design standards and issues relating directly to their individual tenancies are considered.
- Completing design approvals of new and renewed retail builds/ fit outs for stores at our assets
- Building relationships with Asset and Development Teams and ensure consistency of design throughout the portfolio, in line with GPT fit out and style guides
- Following the internal design approval process within the established program
- Contributing design ideas, inspiration and information to the rest of the team, influencing great design outcomes across the portfolio
What makes you stand out
You will need to be tertiary qualified and have several years’ experience within a similar role or interior design within the Retail sector, coupled with excellent communications skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
Your ability to effectively work autonomously, take ownership of tasks and can prioritise multiple projects.
You will have sound knowledge of design, construction process, project management and building services understanding as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
This contract would suit a team player who is passionate about good design principles and wants to broaden and grow their career in a challenging and fast paced environment.
