The role
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations Partner to join our People Team, reporting directly to the Head of People Business Partnering and Talent, where you will play a key role in ensuring best practices in employee relations and fostering a positive work environment. You will be responsible for managing employee relations (ER) cases end-to-end including investigating employee grievances, whistleblower matters, providing expert advice on workplace matters, and proactively monitoring industrial relations (IR) reforms and policies.
What you will be doing
- End-to-end case management of ER issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management concerns.
- Providing expert advice and support to managers and employees on ER matters, ensuring compliance with workplace laws and company policies.
- Conducting workplace investigations and making recommendations for resolution in line with best practices and legal requirements.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of ER cases and ensuring timely resolution.
- Developing and reviewing ER/IR policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with evolving legal frameworks.
- Keeping abreast of legislative and governance changes to provide proactive recommendations on matters, including enterprise agreements, modern award interpretation, and Fair Work Act and any other governance or legislative body.
- Partnering with the People team, managers, and leadership teams to build ER/IR capability across the business.
What makes you stand out
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in an Employee Relations or Human Resources advisory role, with strong case management expertise. From your extensive experience, you will have a deep understanding of Australian workplace laws, industrial awards, and Fair Work legislation as well as being skilled in writing and providing recommendations to company policy changes as required. You will also have completed tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field.
This role would suit someone who is a natural communicator, has exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent problem-solving skills aligned to managing complex ER/IR matters. Combined with the well-honed ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and working independently, whilst maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion. You will also have the innate ability to build rapport and relationships with stakeholders of all levels and have a proactive mindset.
