The role
We have a 12-month contract opportunity for a Finance Manager, Mandates. In this role, you will be responsible for mandate accounting, reporting, and tax compliance, while supporting the Financial Controller, Mandates with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end statutory financial statements and board papers.
You will operate in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment, delivering fund accounting services to a diverse group of investors, each with unique reporting requirements, formats, and deadlines. This role will suit you if you are highly motivated, possess strong technical expertise, communicate effectively, and can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and strong governance.
What you will be doing
- Partnering with Fund Managers to provide end-to-end Financial Reporting support.
- Preparing and monitoring the mandate reporting timetable, balancing multiple deliverables, and competing investor requirements.
- Drafting accounting treatment memos for auditors and responding to external audit queries.
- Preparing statutory financial statements and ensuring timely delivery of reporting across mandates.
- Reviewing monthly financial reporting, including investor reporting, unit pricing, trial balance and consolidation entries.
- Preparing distribution calculations and reviewing management fee calculations.
- Reviewing quarterly statements of taxable income and annual tax returns.
- Reviewing monthly BAS workings.
- Leading special projects, ad hoc reporting, and process improvement initiatives, including documentation and standardisation of mandate processes.
What makes you stand out
You hold a degree in Commerce or a related field and are CA/CPA qualified, with experience in professional services or accounting roles and a strong understanding of IFRS. Exposure to systems such as SAP, Anaplan, or HFM is desirable, and experience in the property or funds management sector will be highly regarded.
You are agile and responsive, able to manage changing requirements and competing priorities effectively, with strong time management skills and attention to detail, while maintaining a broader perspective. You are comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information, delivering high-quality outcomes with a strong focus on governance, accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
You are an effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, and you demonstrate leadership capability through your ability to support and mentor junior team members.
