Due to expansion, GPT is looking for a National Manager, to provide strategic marketing leadership across GPT's retail development portfolio, working at the intersection of retail property development, brand strategy and customer experience innovation. This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

The National Manager, Development Marketing is responsible for developing and executing commercially focused marketing strategies for retail assets under development—from initial planning through to post-launch stabilisation.

You will lead the strategic development of precinct and place strategies, brand development, launch planning and customer experience innovation across varying project scales and complexities.

This is a strategic role with deep operational knowledge required to navigate the complexities of retail property development from a marketing and customer perspective, while driving innovation in marketing technology, digital experiences and data-driven decision making.

What you will be doing

  • Developing and maintaining a national strategic framework for development marketing across the retail portfolio, ensuring consistency in approach while allowing for local market nuances and project-specific requirements.
  • Leading the strategic development of brand positioning, precinct identity and place-making strategies for varied developments. Creating compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences and that differentiate GPT’s assets.
  • Presenting to executive leadership and providing expert marketing counsel on development decisions and contributing to strategic planning at the executive level.  Balancing creative ambition with commercial reality and making strategic investment decisions that drive customer engagement and long-term asset value.
  • Leading the creation, planning, and management of development marketing funds across the portfolio. Develop robust budgeting frameworks that align with project lifecycles and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Developing comprehensive launch strategies for new developments and major repositioning projects, encompassing pre-launch awareness, grand opening events and post-launch stabilisation activities. Championing customer-centric thinking throughout the development process.
  • Driving the strategic direction for art curation, cultural programming, experiential activations and community engagement initiatives. Partnering with external specialists to create unique, memorable experiences that build emotional connections with customers and communities.
  • Developing and overseeing comprehensive communications and PR strategies throughout the development lifecycle, managing internal and external stakeholder communications including investors, retailers, local communities and customers.
  • Driving digital and content strategies that leverage social media, digital platform and emerging technologies to build awareness, engagement and community connection. Leading the development of digital and virtual experiences for developments, including websites, apps, virtual tours, and other digital engagement tools.
  • Acting as the marketing subject matter expert within development teams, contributing to decision making from a customer and marketing perspective and leading asset marketing teams to deliver development marketing programs. Driving collaboration and knowledge sharing across retail developments nationally, identifying opportunities for efficiency, innovation and best practice implementation.
