The role

 

We have an exciting new opportunity to join an innovative and high performing Legal, Risk, Governance and Compliance (LRGC) team as a Paralegal on a casual part-time basis.  

 

This is a unique opportunity for you to support and collaborate with leading in-house and private practice lawyers, sharpening your legal skills and gaining hands-on experience in a fast paced corporate environment. All whilst diving into a diverse range of legal, governance and compliance matters and having access to specialised training with GPT’s panel of top tier external law firms.

 

Specific days and hours will be agreed with the successful candidates and we will provide additional flexibility at exam time and other key study periods.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Managing the electronic and wet ink document execution process, including management of DocuSign, document execution and powers of attorney registers. 
  • Managing and improving the corporate record keeping process, including maintenance of asset and titles register, training registers and procedures manuals.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on a variety of topics, including real estate law, corporate governance, securities law and regulatory matters to support decision making and strategic initiatives. 
  • Supporting the document and contract management process, including the preparation, review and management of legal and governance documents and policies. 
  • Supporting the greater team with a variety of tasks, including transaction and general administrative support, hard copy and electronic filing and processing lodgements with ASIC.
  • Building effective relationships and networks with the wider Paralegal community at GPT, the Legal, Risk, Compliance and Governance team, internal stakeholders and the external legal advisors.

To be successful in this role, you will be a 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate law student who is able to work 2-3 days per week in our head office (Sydney CBD).

 

This role would suit a strong communicator who excels at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, is skilled at managing multiple competing priorities and experienced in working collaboratively. You will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional organisational and time management skills, and a proactive attitude, ready to dive into tasks while thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
