The role

 

This is a fantastic time to join GPT as a Research Analyst in the Retail team where you will  play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making within GPT’s Retail business by providing data-driven insights into market trends and property performance.

 

The role involves collating, analysing, interpreting and presenting data related to the Retail market. The insight generated from this research informs leasing, asset management and investment strategy, including acquisitions and developments.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Collating externally managed retail shopping centre sales data (monthly) and assist in preparing portfolio summaries and commentary for periodic reporting to the market (ASX) and other stakeholders e.g. Wholesale Investors.
  • Analysing / charting data and coordinate responses to data queries from stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the preparation of portfolio data to be provided to third parties for industry publication, benchmarking and ad hoc projects.
  • Reviewing third party data and internal data dashboards to ensure accuracy prior to ingestion into GPT’s databases and dashboards and undertake necessary data transformations to aid ingestion.
  • Preparing research for stakeholders to support business planning and strategy.
  • Partnering with Centre management, marketing, leasing and development teams to understand business issues and opportunities and assist in decision making.

 

What makes you stand out

 

You will need a tertiary degree in either economics, property or commerce and preferably have experience in a Data focused role, within the property industry, coupled with excellent communications skills in both written and verbal form.

 

You will need an analytical mind and can analyse data using Excel (running correlations, pivot tables, modelling data) as well as observe and discuss insights from research data with a range of stakeholders.

 

You will have proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and have the ability to use PowerPoint and Word to generate presentations and reports. Proficiency in using analytical tools and software (Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar would also be desirable.
