The role

We have a 12mth Fixed term Contract role for a Senior Property Finance Analyst to join the Retail Asset finance team.  You will be reporting into the Portfolio Finance Manager, as the Senior Property Finance Analyst you will play a key role within the Finance team, delivering high-quality financial and management reporting across a diverse retail property portfolio. You will sit at the centre of Asset Management finance activities, providing accurate, timely, and insightful information to support effective asset performance, decision-making, and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.

Working closely with the Portfolio Finance Manager, you will take ownership of reporting and analysis for your portfolio while also providing coaching, development, and day-to-day support to more junior team members. This role offers broad exposure across all aspects of portfolio reporting and analysis and is well suited to a commercially minded finance professional with a strong understanding of property fundamentals.

 

What you will be doing

  • Assisting with end-to-end month-end reporting, including preparation of workbooks, posting income, expenses and capital accruals and prepayments, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing monthly management reports with detailed variance analysis presented to asset teams, while liaising with external property managers and finance teams on reporting, trial balances, and forecasts, and supporting statutory disclosures.
  • Managing tenant outgoings processes, including preparation of tenant budget statements, calculation of outgoings wash-ups and accruals, and preparation of tenant outgoings statements and analytical workbooks for audit purposes.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities by updating Anaplan models and related schedules, including leasing forecasts, operating expenses, capital expenditure and other income, maintaining tenant outgoings forecasts, and assisting with the preparation of forecast and budget presentations for internal investment teams and external owners.
  • Assisting with valuation processes, including preparation of valuation packs for Investment Management and posting of investment property revaluations.
  • Contributing to team development by coaching and mentoring junior team members, providing performance feedback, identifying training needs, and supporting the Portfolio Finance Manager in building a collaborative, high-performing Asset Management finance team.

 

What makes you stand out

 

You will hold a relevant degree such as a Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent and bring strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and analytical skills. You are an enthusiastic learner with a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to use initiative while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines. You will have strong Microsoft Excel capability, with CA or CPA qualification considered desirable. Experience with systems such as SAP, Anaplan, HFM/Oracle, and Tableau will be highly regarded.
