The role
The Tax Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory support across GPT, with a strong focus on technical and the effective use of systems and data. The role provides supporting knowledge on income tax, GST and other relevant tax obligations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks.
Working collaboratively with Finance, the business and external advisors, the Tax Manager supports day-to-day operations, transactions and change initiatives by proactively identifying tax risks, providing clear and practical advice, and contributing to the continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.
What you will be doing
- Delivering accurate and timely tax compliance across income tax, GST and other relevant taxes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks
- Applying strong technical tax expertise to support day-to-day operations, transactions and business initiatives
- Using tax and finance systems extensively to support reporting, analysis, reconciliations and process efficiency
- Identifying, assessing and managing tax risks, and contributing to the ongoing strengthening of tax controls and processes
- Providing practical, commercially minded tax advice to Finance and business stakeholders
- Supporting tax aspects of transactions, restructures and change initiatives
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external advisors to achieve high-quality tax outcomes
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements and process optimisation within the tax function
What makes you stand out
Ideally you will have worked in a corporate setting and have a strong technical tax capability, with a solid understanding of tax compliance, governance and risk management, and can apply technical knowledge in a practical, commercial way. You are comfortable working closely with finance teams and business stakeholders and engaging confidently with external advisors.
You will also be highly comfortable working with systems and data, with hands-on experience using tax and finance systems, reporting tools and process-driven environments. Experience supporting transactions, change initiatives or system improvements is highly regarded. You will have several years’ experience in a corporate tax function, professional services or a combination of both, and are comfortable operating as an individual contributor within a collaborative team. Professional qualifications such as CA or CTA are desirable, along with strong communication skills, attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
