The role

We are seeking a Trust Accountant to join our Group Finance (Funds) team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and tax compliance for the GPT Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund (GWSCF) and the GPT Wholesale Office Fund (GWOF).

You will also play a key role in statutory financial reporting, liaising with auditors and supporting ad hoc projects. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated accounting professional to contribute to the success of high-quality retail and office portfolios.

What you will be doing

  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and accrual journals
  • Reviewing trial balances and calculating quarterly management fees
  • Overseeing related party payments and quarterly distribution calculations
  • Preparing statutory financial statements, tax returns, and BAS workings
  • Supporting half-year and year-end reporting (31 Dec & 30 Jun)
  • Raising purchase orders and managing service receipting for head trust expenses
  • Liaising with external auditors and responding to queries
  • Contributing to special projects and ad hoc reporting

What makes you stand out

You are a detail-oriented accounting professional with a Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) and a CA/CPA qualification. With experience in professional services or an accounting-related role, you bring a solid understanding of accounting standards (IFRS) and are confident preparing financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations.

Your strong written and verbal communication skills allow you to build effective relationships across finance, auditors and other stakeholders.

You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs and while experience with SAP or HFM would be an advantage, it is not essential.

Property or funds management experience is also valued but not required – what matters most is your ability to apply your skills with accuracy, attention to detail and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
